Becky Witherup has been an active member of the Franklin Rotary Club for many years.  When asked what that means to her, she shared:

"It makes me feel like I'm part of a whole. While I am personally working to better my community, the Rotary Club as a whole is bettering the world. Rotary brings clean water to places that need it, provides polio vaccines to those who desperately need them, and responds during global disasters and devastating events.

Locally, our club picks up litter, donates to our domestic violence shelter, provides dictionaries to third-grade students, and supports the local school care closets. Our local Rotarians are always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needs it, and I love being part of that.

When I first joined Rotary, I thought I would struggle to find the time to attend weekly meetings or help with events and projects. However, I now look forward to our weekly speakers and the camaraderie within our club. I appreciate that I can volunteer in many ways that fit my schedule and comfort level. Rotary is a place for everyone and gives each member a chance to contribute.

I am currently involved with the Dog Park Project, which has been a real labor of love for me. I hope to see it come to fruition soon so we can provide our community with a fabulous place for dogs of all breeds and sizes to play, run, and exercise.

Rotary has made an enormous positive impact on my life, and I'm so glad I joined."
