For the past eight years, Jody Lavery has volunteered at St. James Episcopal Church in Titusville, helping with food distribution and spreading kindness to everyone who walks through the door. “It’s fun to chat with everyone who comes into the church for assistance,” she says. “Kindness causes misunderstanding and mistrust to disappear—and that’s what I try to bring wherever I’m needed.”
Her commitment to community extends far beyond the church. She’s been with the United Way for 22 years, currently serving as a Program Director. Outside of her work, Jody enjoys gardening, walking her dogs, and collecting vintage Halloween decorations. A lifelong Pleasantville resident, she continues to be a bright light in the community—one act of kindness at a time.
