Help end hunger in our community by volunteering to be a "walker" at the Community Services of Venango County's Food Pantry. "Walkers" will escort individuals through the supermarket style food pantry, putting the selected items in bags. (Clients are not allowed to touch any items due to COVID restrictions)
The food pantry helps hundreds of families every year who might otherwise have to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table. Once a month, eligible residents are provided a two-day supply of groceries. These items include: cereal or breakfast item, fruit and vegetables, soup, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, jelly, canned and frozen meat, a helper meal, pasta, and a miscellaneous item.
This volunteer opportunity is at our Center Street location in Oil City, Mondays through Friday, from 9:30am-4pm. Volunteers should be 18 or older. Background clearances are required, Community Services of Venango County will help with obtaining them if needed.
